Jon ‘maddog’ Hall has just released a series of videos promoting “Project Cauã“.

This project aims at, among other things, reducing Digital Divide and unemployment, all in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.

The first 6 videos have both English and Portuguese captions are are being released through the official channel at Youtube.

On 26th and 27th of november will happen the “4th SoLiSC: Free Software Congress of Santa Catarina”. This event is produced by The Free Software Community of The State of Santa Catarina. Its goal is to debate, promote and foster business, development and use of Free Software in this State.

On 10th may officially began the preparations for the 10th Free Software International Forum (FISL 10), a traditional annual event that takes place in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The 10th edition promises to be a great celebration to surpass all previous editions.

Good news: Brazilian Daylight Saving Time now has a fixed rule. It affects the configuration files of time zones .

Bad news: The new rule for DST has an exception when it ends on Carnival sundays. Oh, no! More exceptions!

Really Good news: Get my Bash script to generate exception rules for Brazilian time zones and forget about updates on configuration files!
